Controlled discomfort

The best way to grow

Hope you’re getting busy this Wednesday.

Cuz I am lol.

I’ve been trying to fight entropy (chaos) since I’ve started the journey of bettering myself.

The more you control, the better your life is.

it’s a bit obvious, but most people just can’t grasp the importance of it.

So much chaos in their daily lives there’s just no room for improvement.

But this is for the mindset book I’ll be making for you later on. (can’t wait for you to improve)

What I wanted to share with you is the thing called controlled discomfort.

I got this term from Nick Bare (hybrid athlete) in case you’re interested.

Why is it good and how can you implement it?

Basically it’s when you deliberately choose something hard enough to do so you can endure the amount of physical/psychological “pain”, so to speak.

I’ve always had the worst stamina/endurance out of all the people around me.

Yet I run 5+ km every other day because that’s what’s difficult for me.

And when I was starting out, I couldn’t even run a kilometer.

Just set a goal and make it so it’s difficult enough for you to endure, but to not give up and just do.

Making it difficult/complicated enough is crucial because otherwise it’s not gonna be interesting.

And here comes the important part - speed is key.

Doing without thinking too much in situations like these is optimal.

“I gotta start a business, I gotta do this & that.”

“Oh, wait, I already did it.”

You can, of course, do little work and hate yourself, but I prefer to go through shit and feel better afterwards.

Go do some hard shit.

Until next time,

Vigilant
