About discipline
Good Sunday.
Time was slowly passing while I was sitting in my room, contemplating.
I was thinking about discipline.
Do you really need it?
Some people are "happy" & successful without it.
My friend always tells me: "Why would you spend your limited time doing shit you don't want?"
This statement always splits me into two every time he mentions it.
After some time contemplating, I came to a conclusion that the righteousness of this statement depends on your purpose.
In my case, to get what I want, I could half-ass my work, do the bare minimum and spend the rest of my time entertaining myself.
But then, wouldn't I decrease the likelihood of achieving my goal?
Discipline exists for the reason of increasing the chance of succes.
If you do things others don't want to, you get ahead of them.
If you skip one day, it doesn’t mean that you're undisciplined.
Discipline is just a term for describing the amount of discomfort you're willing to go through to get ahead of other people/yourself.
So, it stems from your inner self.
I remember how ugly I was when I was fat, so I count my calories every day, eat healthy & exercise.
I want to never be fat & ugly again bad enough, so I stay disciplined.
It's that simple.
You are either terrified of something or you want something bad enough, both create discipline.
The only thing left is to remember the goal/the thing or feeling you're trying to escape.
Anyway, discipline is a choice, like everything in life.
It's a result of your programming.
It all starts in your mind (imprint that phrase in your head).
Thanks for reading & until next time,
