How real progress is made
Modern influence has distorted your perception of progress
Good Sunday yet again.
Let me ask you a question - how long will it take for you to become who you want to be?
Is it one year? 6 months? A decade?
You don’t know?
I’ve recently had a conversation with a person who said, ‘It’s so hard for me to imagine all these big goals and take action; progress feels nonexistent.”
I can relate to that.
Most of the time I’m looking at the future and do not notice the everyday growth I’m experiencing.
You might know the term “shiny object syndrome’ - that is the outcome of such thinking.
Imagine this: every day you have tons of bits of information to compare yourself and your progress to - social media influencers, TV stars, that rich kid at school, etc.
It becomes very difficult because instead of looking inward and assessing your daily growth, you’re looking outwards.
You forget that the people you’re looking at do not have the same circumstances you do.
As a result, you devalue your progress and quit/give up.
Then you try a new thing and the same scenario happens.
Or, perhaps, you might’ve been programmed to think that success should come in a short time frame, otherwise the thing you’re working on isn’t for you.
That’s a fallacy.
People spend decades working on the same thing until they see even a little bit of success.
Some people work their whole lives on one thing and never achieve any results.

See the “Valley of Despair” on the graph above? That’s where you, or most people, quit.
It leads to a reinforcing cycle of degradation.
You do not notice the progress you have made and you give up halfway.
You’re left with a little bit of skills in everything but not having mastered anything.
You must learn to assess your daily progress and combine it with a realization that it all counts.
Every single thing you do on a daily basis compounds into what’s called “success”.
You must understand that where you are now is just a part of the process.
If you become aware of it and push through - you will prevail in the end, if not materialistically, then mentally.
Thank you for reading, this is the most relevant information you’ll ever need when it comes to success.
Until next time,
Nurysein
