How successful people "control" their success

The line of greatness

Good Sunday, friend.

I hope you’re doing okay & getting after it, even on the weekend.

I got rid of this belief that you have to rest on the weekends.

If you need to “rest” from your work/job, you don’t need to be doing it.

Alex Hormozi works 7 days a week because he loves his craft more than anything.

Anyways, I was scrolling through my TG channel for the ideas to elaborate on and found an interesting one. (If you’re not yet subbed, I drop daily lessons there; click here & join.)

You probably have heard the phrase: “Control what you can and let go of what you cannot.”

But what does it mean exactly, and why is it so important?

I wrote that title for a reason - differentiating what you can control and what you can’t is the line of greatness and happiness.

You see, most people live their lives worrying over so many things they have little to no control over, yet what they can influence - they choose, knowingly or unknowingly, not to.

They don’t understand that there is a direct correlation between one’s inputs and their outputs.

They blame whatever they see fit and find many excuses for why they are not where they want to be.

This realization that you have to take responsibility for where you currently are is so crushing that they choose to continue living in delusions, never having understood their true potential.

You might ask, “How does taking responsibility make me better at controlling what I can?”

That’s the point - in order to clearly distinguish what you are able to control, you must understand the logical weight and consequences of your own actions (or inaction).

Until you realize that, you will continue to believe in the lies that you can’t accomplish something.

Okay, let’s say you’ve done that already, but how do you actually implement this “line” into your life?

Here’s the thing: it’s a long process.

I’ve said it in my Telegram, but the struggle of a modern world is self-restriction.

It’s very difficult to control yourself when countless distractions are thrown upon you, even if you understand that you are in charge.

Most of them (distractions) play on your subconscious mind.

They make you into a brainless bum who craves more and more dopamine with each minute.

What logical conclusion can you draw from that?

The more you expose yourself to distractions, the harder it becomes to stay aware and control yourself.

So, obviously the first step would be to limit your exposure to them.

After you’ve done that, your inner desires will become clearer for you, and you’ll be able to find that “drive” that you didn’t have before.

Of course, that’s only if your desires align with what you really want at your core.

The second step is simple - write out what is in your power to control and the opposite.

All the things that are bothering you - ponder about them.

If it is within your control → take daily action towards fixing it.

If it is not → make a list of it and remind yourself daily about letting go of it.

The first thought that I have when facing a problem is: “Can I change that?”

Make it into a mental exercise and consciously ask yourself this whenever you’re met with something uncomfortable.

Incorporate this into your daily life and you’ll be amazed by the quality of your thoughts later on.

Thanks for the read.
