- How to be more productive.
How to be more productive.
Good Sunday, friend.
Hope you’re doing well.
Today I wanted to remind you of one of the most important things when it comes to productivity: the elimination of exposure.
They’re not a complete remedy, but doing this alone will help you stay focused.
Imagine a young aspiring entrepreneur getting ready to work on his craft.
He sits down at his desk, turns his PC on, and starts working.
But then the notification pops on his phone.
“Lemme check real quick,” he says.
He then ends up scrolling through reels for 2 hours.
Time wasted, work not done, day ruined.
Imagine a different scenario - he clicks on his Youtube tab by accident.
He sees all these flashy thumbnails and begins binge-watching without even realizing it.
Different cause, same outcome.
Believe it or not, but even the smallest thing, like the tab you forgot to close in your browser, can snowball into a big problem.
That’s where elimination comes into play.
Be a minimalist when it comes to work.
Eliminate every possible distraction.
Turn off notifications, put on headphones with noise cancellation, close all the unnecessary tabs in the browser, etc.
Remember, your mental environment also matters.
Clean your thoughts as much as possible before you begin working.
I personally like to do a little meditation in the morning - it helps my mind stay organized and clean.
Remember: the goal is to have as few distractions as possible.
Alex Hormozi works in a tight corridor-like room with nothing but his desk and monitor in front of him.
He wears earbuds AND headphones to have as little noise as possible.
You may not believe it, but it’s very effective.
You can also write down what distracted you every time you were distracted.
Minimize the possibilities of breaking your flow as much as possible.
Not only will you be able to do more, you will also feel more fulfilled.
Thank you for reading & until next time,
