I stopped trying to be perfect

And why you should too

Happy Sunday.

I hope you’re getting after it just like I do.

I’m writing this drenched in sweat after the workout.

I don’t know if you’ve already realized it, but you, me, and everyone else will never be able to become perfect.

It just goes against the very nature of this world because there will always be internal and external chaos.

I made the mistake of chasing perfection from the very start of my improvement journey.

Because of that, I wasn’t able to think straight and enjoy the very process.

It lacks you of enjoyment and clouds your judgment because you think what you’re doing is never enough or never good enough.

You may be making improvements, but because your mental game sucks, you just can’t take the necessary strides towards your goals.

Now, what I mean by that is - you may be working hard, but because of the things that block your vision (one of which is being a “perfectionist”), this work becomes less productive.

You’re focusing on the wrong things.

How do you fix that?

Focus on the LOGICAL analysis of your actions.

What you see as “perfection” is a result that was accumulated through continuous improvement of the PRESENT self.

I always highlight the “why?” question because this is the apogee of logic.

Why are you not happy with the result of your work?

Why are you programmed to think a certain way?

Etc.

Not to mention that success in ANY area is not achieved through perfection but through continuous tests and failures.

Don’t fall into the trap of endless dissatisfaction.

Ttyl,

Vigilant.
